In order to meet the growing demand for our dogs and reduce the wait time on our waiting list, we have been focusing on increasing our capacity.
One major ‘bottle neck’ is the number of trainers at the Centre. Each trainer works with 10-12 dogs every year, so adding a new trainer to our current team of nine was an absolute priority.
Last year, we were able to send Omri, a trainer-in-training, to Guide Dogs Australia to complete his certification, through the generosity of two UK-based donors. Omri will be returning to Israel this month to begin his work at the Centre. The dogs are already eagerly waiting for him, and so is everyone on the team!
