Shalom to our two newest recruits, Susie and Solo, who made Aliyah from the UK just before Christmas! Through our partnership with Guide Dogs UK, we were able to get these two cuties from a centre in Scotland.
Both are now happily settled with experienced puppy raisers, Susie in Tel Aviv and Solo in Jerusalem. They are working at getting used to the sights and sounds of Israeli traffic – something that we all have to get used to when we visit Israel!! Susie is doing particularly well showing reduced sensitivity to traffic noise although both dogs get very excited at the sound of other dogs barking, maybe they think that signals playtime! Whilst being trained both Susie and Solo are also enjoying lots of love from their respective families at home and at work.
And, at some point in the future, it is hoped that Susie and Solo will both become parents of more puppies who will, in turn, be trained to bring light into yet more lives. Diversifying the genetic pool of our breeding programme is important for the overall success rate of our dogs and this is one of our targets for 2022.
