The Centre has approximately 150 puppies currently being raised by puppy raisers around the country, most of them university students. These puppies are being raised by close to 250 volunteers.
Last year, Eli Ben Boher, Director of the Puppy Raising Department and our principal photographer, organised the first ‘Happening’ to bring the puppy raisers to the Centre. The event was not only to have a good time, but to expose the volunteers to the different ‘career’ paths once puppies return to the Centre.
This year the event was at the beginning of June, at the Centre with approximately 80 puppy raisers. They met graduates and clients, spoke with the staff and engaged in dialogue to answer all their questions and concerns. They also held a puppy photo contest.
